When Pompano Beach Was the Right Answer

A jeopardy answer tile

Pompano Beach had its own Jeopardy! moment in the national spotlight. During the January 2 episode of Jeopardy!, Pompano Beach appeared as the correct response to a $2,000 clue in the Double Jeopardy round, and none of the contestants could reel it in.

The category was That Place Sounds Fishy, and the clue read: This fish name “Beach” city in Broward County is just north of Fort Lauderdale.

The correct response was, of course, What is Pompano Beach?

If you shouted the answer at your TV, congratulations, you officially outplayed the contestants. And if you're still searching for the right answer to a winter getaway, we'll make it easy. Sunshine, beautiful beaches, signature events, and plenty of room to relax make Pompano Beach the smartest choice of all.
